Gyovanni Aranda’s Journey: From Rush Select to the Professional Stage

Rush Soccer is proud to celebrate the incredible journey of Gyovanni “Gyo” Aranda, a dedicated athlete whose hard work and commitment have led him from California Rush to Rush Select Academy—and now to NK Varaždin. His story is a testament to the Rush player pathway, the elite training environment at Rush Select Academy, and the doors that open for those who trust the process.

From Humble Beginnings to Elite Training

Gyo’s soccer journey began at the age of 10 with Kickers, but as costs rose, his family made the pivotal decision to switch to Rush Soccer when he was 12. That move changed everything.

“My experience with Rush was really good—it put me in an environment with elite players who helped me grow as an athlete. I was coached by some of the best, improving my technical skills every day.”

The Rush Select Academy Difference

Transitioning to Rush Select Academy, at RPS Academies in Port St. Lucie, Florida, was a game-changer for Gyo. The intensity, discipline, and high-performance expectations pushed him to new levels.

“The environment was completely different. At RPS, I had to stay disciplined and focused solely on soccer. Training went from twice a week to twice a day, which significantly improved my strength and speed of play.”

While the demanding environment was a challenge, the biggest hurdle was being away from family. But Gyo used that as motivation: “I overcame it by working hard every day, knowing that my success would make my family proud.”

Earning a Professional Opportunity

Gyo’s dedication paid off when he spoke with Rush coach Raul about his ambitions to go pro. That conversation set the wheels in motion for his next big step. “When I got the offer from NK Varaždin, I was really happy. My main goal was to join the club, and I achieved it.” His short-term goal? To break into the first team and compete at the highest level. In the long term, Gyo has his sights set on catching the attention of an even bigger club.

Rush Soccer’s Impact & Advice for Young Players

Since joining Rush, Gyo has thrived in an environment built for player development. “Rush Soccer has helped me since I was young. They put me in professional environments where I could see what the next level is like.”

For young players dreaming of a professional career, Gyo offers this advice: “Keep God first and trust the process. You will have to make sacrifices, but your hard work will eventually pay off.”

The Rush Player Pathway in Action

Gyo Aranda’s story is a shining example of what’s possible within the Rush Soccer system. His journey from Rush Select to NK Varaždin underscores the club’s mission to develop talent, provide elite training, and create opportunities for players to reach their full potential.
