The Start Of Rush Fest 2019

summit2019-2

Rush U12 players from around the country are currently three days into Rush Fest, a soccer festival held in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs. This soccer event combines competitive games, training sessions, and classroom sessions for boys and girls who are passionate about their sport and striving to train at the next level. With the picturesque view of the Rocky Mountains in the background, teams compete in morning games and then participate in afternoon training and classroom sessions run by top coaches from across the Rush family.

Teams arrived Monday evening at Cheyenne Mountain High School, where the opening ceremonies began. They came from all over the country dressed in costumes and face paint as they represented their states, coming together to celebrate Rush spirit. Teams were chanting, singing, waving flags, dancing, and cheering. Players from Virginia Rush were fully invested in the energetic buzz. “Half the people on our team lost their voice!” one player exclaimed the next day. “I was screaming like crazy!”

Parents were also excited about the kids’ spirit, One mom from Idaho said, “The whole hype on getting the spirit award, I think that is really fun for the kids because it's not something that you normally get to do. So the hype and the excitement and the ability to be a little bit on the wild side is super fun!”

When asked how the first day of the tournament went a Hawaii Rush player said,  “Amazing!” giving a huge smile and two thumbs up. She and her teammates had combined with some Colorado Rush players to form a team at Fest, tying their first game of the tournament. She expressed how fun it was to play with Rush players from a different state and get to know them.

Overall, the start to Rush Fest had a great first impression on this year’s participants, both for players and for parents. “The location is gorgeous,” gushed a Idaho Rush parent, “that was our first impression; everything went super smooth upon arrival. We are so happy to be here!”
