Rush Select Prepares for Presidents Day Tournament
After 6 months of preparation Rush Select is set to take 10 teams (Boys and Girls U13-U17) to the President Day Tournament in Phoenix this weekend. 160 of the top players within Rush soccer, representing 23 clubs across the nation will be joined by coaches from 20 states, including 12 Technical Directors and two of the three Regional Technical Directors will look to bring home some more championships.

The players will arrive Thursday, a couple of days ahead of the tournament, to ensure the coaches get a chance to build some team camaraderie, as many of the teams are comprised of players that have rarely or never played with each other. Friday will be the day where all the players and coaching staff will head to Grande Sports World, in Casa Grande, AZ, a big supporter of Rush Soccer. The day will consist of morning training, lunch, afternoon individual team building sessions, dinner and the a Select wide meeting.
Reaching the final will consist of six games in three days, so the coaches will work hard to ensure that the players fitness and preparation before and after the games is taken into account as well as the focus on winning the tournament. Without the intimate knowledge of the players this is a little tougher than it sounds and so the organization becomes very important.
