October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Pennsylvania Rush have taken that message to heart. Tamara Lutz done a great job for PA Rush and got the families to support purchasing "Rush To Find The Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirts. The goal of selling the shirts was to help promote awareness of this terrible illness, but also to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. After all was said and done, Tamara and the Pennsylvania Rush will happily be donating $1290.00 to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation!
"Tamara approached me about doing the fundraiser and I believed it was a great way to get the whole club working together for a great cause. We just want to bring awareness to the young girls in the club at an early age so when they are older they will automatically get checked and it could save their life. The earlier you can find the cancer the better your chances are of surviving and this is why we wanted to get the message out," said PA Rush Technical Director Nick Vitale.
"Your support has truly touched many but more importantly by raising funds and awareness we will hopefully touch the life of a woman currently afflicted with breast cancer and possibly save her life!"
Keep wearing your shirts through the month of October so that we continue to bring awareness!
