Last year's NW DII semi-finalists, Rush FC Bali has received tons of soccer gear from the main office of Rush Soccer in Littleton, Colorado, USA. The shipment, which arrived in Douala, Cameroon on Thursday, August 30, 2012, cleared the Cameroon Customs on September 1, 2012 and was handed over to Rush FC Bali coaches, Julius Ndeh Fombou and Marie Chantal Abonge. The soccer gear is part of Rush Soccer's R.E.A.C.H. (Rush Equipment Assisting Children) Program.
Originally scheduled to arrive in Cameroon some two years ago, the shipment was delayed after war broke out in the North African country of Libya as the US Navy ship carrying the soccer gear changed its mission from a humanitarian mission to a war mission.
'I am particularly grateful to Rush Soccer for ensuring that the gear finally made it to Cameroon,' said Cameroon Rush CEO Sopo Ngwa in a telephone interview from Phoenix, Arizona. ' The US Navy and Rush Soccer USA staff, especially Rush Soccer CEO Tim Schulz, Donna, Mike and Kendra have been instrumental in ensuring that this gear get to the poor kids of Cameroon Rush,' Attorney Ngwa added. 'Rush Soccer has already taken soccer among my Bali people in Cameroon to a different level. Bali Kids who for decades were playing soccer in Bali barefooted now have some quality cleats from Rush Soccer,' concluded attorney Sopo Ngwa.
