U14 Rush Fest Rolls On

The second day of games were played today at the U14 Rush Fest in Virginia Beach. The morning games were quite competitive with Colorado, Georgia walking away with wins. The Virginia Rush boys also scored late in their match with the U13 Rush Select boys to walk away with a 2-2 tie.

The Rush Select girls also played the hosts from Virginia. A second half goal gave Virginia the win and cemented their status as the team to beat this week.

Afternoon functional training gave players the opportunity to work on position specific skills with top Rush coaches. 

In the evening, the kids hit the beach for round robin soccer games. While there was some great skill shown by the players, perhaps the biggest story of the night was the beating of the Rush coach team. After going undefeated in the U12 Festival last week, the coaches were confident heading into the evening. However, the streak would come to an end 5-6 games into the night as a mistake in the back allowed a U14 Fest girl to sneak a shot past the coaches keeper. Cheers erupted from the players and coaches fell to their knees in shame for many minutes! 

Tuesday festivities include morning games, a small sided tournament in the afternoon and the Fest 22 game and Rush BBQ.
