U16 DE Rush Win 5th Straight State Cup
On April 29th the U16 Girls Blast won their 5th consecutive Delaware State Cup Championship with a win over the CSA United. The former 2010 Regional Finalist Blast team was up to the task again in the U16 Girls Championship. The Blast dominated possession and their competition with over 20 shots on goal. The Blast led Concord 3-0 with goals by Megan Frailer, Haley McNulty and Maddie Rash before Concord scored their only goal on a penalty kick after an inadvertent hand ball in the box, with about 15 minutes to play in the match. The match ended in a 3-1 result. This marks the 5th consecutive Delaware State Cup Title for the Blast team. They have won every year that they have competed in the championship. Coaches Bill Davis & Dave Whitcraft could not be more proud of the girls and this significant accomplishment.
The Blast will move now to the Region I Championships in Lancaster, Pennsylvania June 28 through July 3. Delaware Rush finish up State Cup play June 3rd and hope to have additional teams joining the U16 girls.
