The AR Rush Nike 95 girls earned the title of 2012 President Cup Champion in the U17G age bracket at the Arkansas President’s Cup Championships held at Burns Park Soccer Complex the weekend of November 12-13, 2011. Finishing the 2011 season as the undefeated first seed in the AR State League, the AR Rush Nike 95 girls went into the President’s Cup Championship with the mindset of winning and advancing to President’s Cup Regionals. By the end of their third match, they had already surpassed the competition in points and could not be caught, no matter the outcome of the last game.
The weekend competition began against their state rival and 2011 President’s Cup Champion the ASC Angels. The teams played to a 0-0 tie, the only tie the Rush Nike 95 girls would have all weekend. Handily beating the AR Comets 4-0 in their second match on Saturday afternoon, the Rush 95 girls went into Sunday’s games as the leader in their bracket. After their opponents opened on Sunday with a 0-0 tie, the Rush girls knew all they needed was one win on Sunday to go ahead in points and secure the title of 2012 President’s Cup Champion. Playing in true Rush style, the 95 girls once again dominated the AR Comets, beating them 4-0 not only to win their third match of the weekend, but also their first President’s Cup championship.
This June, the AR Rush Nike 95 girls will be attending the Presidents Cup Regionals in North Carolina representing the AR Rush Soccer Club and the State of Arkansas in the U17G bracket. Good luck to the AR Rush Nike 95 girls at Presidents Cup Regionals in North Carolina this summer!
