The Rush BOD named Jérôme de Bontin as Chairman of Rush Soccer yesterday Thursday, October 20, 2011. Jérôme de Bontin (pictured with fellow Rush BOD member Gerard Houllier) studied in the U.S. with a B.A. in economics at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Jérôme currently is a member of the US Soccer Foundation Investment Committee and is a trustee after having served on its Board and Executive Board for many years and having chaired its Development Committee. He has served as President of AS Monaco, one of the most successful clubs in French soccer, before resigning in 2009.
Founded in 1997, Rush Soccer is the largest soccer club in the world. In July of 2009, Rush expanded to its first international club in South Africa. To date, Rush is in four continents and 16 countries and a membership of a little over 39,000.

Jérôme was instrumental in securing the partnership with AJ Auxerre, which expires by the end of this year. Jérôme plans are to move in a different direction, “I have several objectives for Rush, one of which is to secure a partnership with a world renown club. I am confident we will be able to accomplish this in the near future.” Jérôme goes on further to say, “The Rush has an aggressive plan and I am pleased to be part of that vision.” Jérôme further adds, "I believe that with its 34,000 registered players Rush Soccer can have a significant impact in payer development in our country. We are proud to have many of our players being selected to the US Soccer Federation National pools but our goal is to continuously improve our coaching programs and train better and better male and female players for the future success and growth of the sport in the USA. Our strategy is to embrace as many players as possible, at any age, from all origins and social backgrounds, while providing our most committed players with an opportunity to become the best at what they do and to eventually compete internationally".
