ecnl logoThe 2011-2012 Elite Clubs National League season has begun and teams from the Colorado Rush and Virginia Rush are again looking to be crowned as ECNL Champions.

The new season will feature even more regional competition as the league had now split into eight conferences divided up across the country. U14-U18 teams will compete in the ECNL this season, the most age groups to play in the three years of the ECNL.

Virginia Rush will compete in the Southeast conference and take on Birmingham United, GSA, Concorde Fire, Atlanta Fire, CESA Premier, Charlotte SA and CASL in league play. Virginia Rush finished the 2010-2011 season ranked as the 49th club (of 52) in the National Standings. The U17 (now U18) Nike girls finished in 8th place in the ECNL ‘B’ Flight and will look for another strong showing this season. VA Rush takes to the fields this upcoming weekend when they travel to Birmingham United and GSA.

Colorado Rush will play their league games against Sereno, SC Del Sol, Las Vegas Heat FC, Las Vegas Premier, Real Colorado, Colorado Storm and Utah Avalanche. Colorado Rush finished as the 13th team in the final 52 team standings last season led by a 10th place finish by the then U16 Nike. The 2011-2012 campaign started two weekends ago for Colorado Rush as the U14-U18 teams took on Las Vegas Premier and Heat FC and went a combined 8-1-1 (W, L, T). The U15’s – 18’s will travel to Phoenix this weekend for conference games against Sereno and SC Del Sol.

Good luck to all ECNL participants this weekend and throughout the season.
