The U14 Festival is in the books. The first time U14 Festival had several 'Firsts'. The birth of the 'Rush 22' game was by far the highlight of the week with players from all teams combining to play in front of their teammates, coaches and parents. The week culminated in another Rush Fest first as the 'Rush Club of the Week' award was split between the Virginia Rush, and Rush Pikes Peak.
"The Rush has always been a club to try things first," said Texas Rush Director of Academy Dave Dengerink who has been present at all five Festivals. "It was not the goal to split the Club of the Week honors, but it really shows that the passion we are trying to instill in the players is spreading to more clubs."
The U13 Rush Select teams attending the Fest and playing teams a year older, were the class of the tournament going a combined 8-0.
Video highlights from both the U12 and U14 Festival's will be available soon. Thank you to all of the parents, coaches, staff and specially the players for two great weeks of soccer. The dates and location for the 2012 Festival are being finalized and will be announced in the coming weeks.
