A couple weeks ago our very own Rush Player was named in the final four as “Buddy of the Year” award… well, she won! 16 year old Laura Aspelund was the recipient of this year’s award for her work with the TOPSoccer program, players with special needs. Laura plays on the U16 Alaska Rush First team, wears the captains arm brand and volunteers for REACH, Rush Equipment Assisting Children. “I am happy for Laura,” Technical Director of Alaska Rush, Jason Leonardis says. “She is an walking example of our core values. She is one of our top playes, gets excellent grades and volunteers in two of our humanitarian programs….amazing.”
