Stony Brook Boys Make U12 ENY State Team
Stony Brook Rush has two reasons to be proud of itself after it was announced that the U12 Bayern team, currently coached by Gene Haas, will have two players representing the Eastern New York State team for the 2013/2014 season.
After coming through a series of tryouts, which started with over 100 players, Brennan Foster and Benjamin Witover got themselves through to the last round and indeed did enough to make the final cut and will represent our club throughout this year.
Director of Coaching Mark Nash said, "To have two players who have come through our Intramural, Academy and Travel program to get this type of recognition is a testament to the hard work they have put in and as a club, us creating the right training environment where players can progress. So much focus today is playing to win at a young age, however it is important that we do not sacrifice wins over player development, especially at an age when learning to play the right way. We are constantly looking for new ways so players can advance themselves. We are very proud of Brennan's and Ben's achievement and look forward to seeing there progress over the next few years.
