Danielle Foxhoven has signed on to play the inaugural season of the NWSL with Portland Thorns FC! Danielle, who spent the 2012 season playing in Russia after the fall of the WPS, is a well known name in the Portland area. While attending the University of Portland, Danielle scored 57 goals and added 25 assists, good for 4th on the schools all-time scoring list.
"I am very happy for Danielle. Nobody bleeds blue the way she does," said Colorado Rush Technical Director Erik Bushey. "She gained valuable experience when she chose to take a path less traveled by signing in the Russian first division. Now she’ll have the opportunity to bring all her experiences together for the good of our professional game here in America. Danielle is an outstanding player who is rich with insight and possesses quality in front of goal. These attributes are all too rare to be found in the same player. I believe she will do awesome for Portland."
Danielle and the Thorns will open the 2013 season Saturday, April 13 when they travel to FC Kansas City.
Congratulation Danielle and good luck this season!
