Rush's Evans Wins W-League Scoring Title

07.19.14 - Danica EvansThe W-League announced its 2014 regular season honors Tuesday, with Colorado Rush striker Danica Evans leading the honorees.

Evans, who captured the Scoring Champion and Golden Boot titles thanks to her 13 goals and 29 points in 12 games, led the league’s second-best offense as the Rush scored 38 goals en route to a 6-3-3 record. Evans, a two-time Team of the Week selection who is entering her sophomore season at the University of Portland, tallied a pair of hat tricks this season.

This marks the first time that a Rush player has been the season leader in any major statistical category. Evans 29 points shattered the previous Rush season best of 16 set by Lindsey Horan in 2011.

Evans will next be in action on August 22nd when Portland travels to Florida State to take on the Seminoles and Rush W-League teammates Carson Pickett, Kacy Scarpa and recent transfer Morgan Kennedy.
