Rush Soccer is very pleased to announce its newest African partner in Rwanda! Dream Team Academy has officially joined the Rush as of December 22, 2013. Rush Soccer staff member Brian Lux had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda to work with the club for 18 days to help them begin their journey as a Rush club.
"This trip was an amazing experience," said Lux. "The Dream Team Football Academy already has a great setup with fields, an office, and almost 200 players. They host their own tournament, and while I was their 4 of thier players got to represent their country by being invited into ther Rwanda U17 National Team camp. The future is very bright here!"
Dream Team Rush Football Academy is located in the Kicukiro neighborhood of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. The club is led by President Kayisire Jacques, a former professional player from Rwanda. "We want to have the best club in Rwanda, and by joining up with Rush we can help achieve that goal," said Jacques. "We are very excited to join the Rush family!"
DTRFA has several programs, ranging from their U6 age group all the way up to their U18 academy team. They have a staff of 4 full time coaches and 6 assistant coaches. They have training groups and programs for both local and international players, from countries such as Belgium, Holland, Mexico, Germany, and the United States. "The diversity of players here is incredible, DTRFA is the only club in the region that has programs like this," explained Lux.
