Rush Soccer and the Inspireum Soccer Awards are looking for the countries most inspirational players. Among the semifinalists named is Becca Lidvall from Colorado Rush.
Becca Lidvall of the Colorado Rush is an incredible example of "juggling." She skillfully and thoughtfully juggled the decision of playing Rush Club soccer and high school soccer, and has done both every year. Her work ethic and commitment to soccer is evident by showing up mentally and physically for practice and games. She knows when to have a good time at practice and when to buckle down and work hard. Becca pushes herself and her teammates, and yet is quick to realize it is a game and life is so much more than only soccer. She is an intense competitor, but is the first to give encouragement to the goalie and teammates if scored on by the opponent. Becca has juggled playing with the best club and high school soccer players, as well as playing with athletes who have special needs including her two brothers, while treating all abilities with respect. Her academic record is outstanding, taking AP classes and maintaining over a 4.0 grade point average, while selflessly spending countless hours helping her dad re-learn to walk and talk again after his stroke. Her limitless skill, creative vision, and positive leadership on the field verbally and by example is a joy to watch. And, by the way, she really can juggle three oranges too!!
Like juggling in soccer, Becca has been rewarded with a balance of a full life and outstanding character. All whom she touches is amazed by her heart and love for the game as well as the friendships made along the way. With Becca's two siblings having special needs and her father recently having a stroke, Becca has provided strength and stability to her family. Becca's current U18 soccer coach Kendra Auston states, "Becca is an inspiration to all of us among the team, she provides the work ethic and passion of life that we all aspire to possess. She not only leads by example, but continues to push herself to achieve more. I am honored to have coached such a wonderful young lady for the past three years."
