It has been approximately one year today when Gambian Rush became a partner. The 2nd club in Africa and 28th club overall. The club is healthy and vibrant. Starting virtually from the beginning, the club began its Rush career with 4 teams in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups. It did not take long to grow to now 12 teams including its first U17 women’s team.
The Gambia Rush led by Omar Sise, Technical Director and Kemo Ceesay, Chief Operations Officer is now an Academy producing some of the top soccer players to come out of The Gambia. “One of our goals is to have a team playing in the second division by 2012. Then from there to finish in the top two in the league to be promoted and be playing in the first division,” Says Ceesay, also the Gambian Football Associations, Chief Financial Officer. “We have come a long way and will not stop until we are competing in the first division,” adds Sise.
