Victoria Barba (NM Rush Nike ’94 Girls) travelled to the inaugural Dallas International Girls Cup April 19th-25th with a combined U16 and U17 team from Colorado Rush. Playing “out of position” as an outside back and wing, Victoria performed extremely well. She and her teammates were crowned champions after a hard fought 3-2 victory over Eclipse Select. This is the 7th time in her Rush career that Victoria has guest played with Rush teams, and the third time she has helped the team to a championship.
When asked how this one compared, Victoria had this to say: “This one was special, because I’m used to playing more centrally, or up top and I was able to play out of my comfort zone, and I proved to myself that I could play any position. A lot of the other girls played in different positions than they were used to, and we were still able to win. It was a lot of fun.”
Victoria would like to thank Erik Bushey and the team for making her feel welcome and providing yet another amazing experience for her. She’s already looking forward to defending the title next year!
