02.18.14 - California RushFounded and based in Huntington Beach, TEAM 90 FC, who was recently affiliated with the LA GALAXY SOUTH BAY, has officially become the CALIFORNIA RUSH.

Gabriel Lucatero, Board President, signed the Licensing & Services Agreement to make the California Rush partnership official in arguably the most vibrant youth soccer market in the United States. “Since our club’s inception nearly four years ago, TEAM 90 has continually strived to create innovative ways to provide a positive and dynamic soccer experience for our membership. We feel that the affiliation with Rush Soccer is the next step in the evolution of TEAM 90, now California Rush, to provide our players with opportunities to play at every level," claimed Gabriel Lucatero.

“Servicing Orange and LA Counties and representing over 250 members, California Rush along with our leadership team comprised of Technical Director, Todd Saldana, Boys Director Gabriel Lucatero and myself as the Girls Director are quite excited and very much looking forward to the new partnership” wrote Rafael Llorente, Girls Director of Coaching.

"I had progressed through all the stages of building a youth club from the grass roots up as the founding Technical Director for a successful club here in Southern California who were eventually courted and acquired by the LA Galaxy. Our players, teams and coaches respected and were sought after by the top organizations from U.S. Development Academy and ECNL clubs to major college programs and U.S. National teams but I always felt something was missing," said California Rush Techncial Director Todd Saldana. "What is in place at Rush from a proven, unified standpoint for club programming, education for players, coaches and parents is second to none and is utilized at Rush clubs worldwide. I am grateful to share this approach along with adding my experience and the experience of my fellow directors in the ultra competitive and talent rich SoCal youth soccer environment. I want to thank Rush CEO Tim Schulz for being willing to take my calls over the past 10 years and unselfishly sharing his experience until this day finally arrived. (Tim and I have known each other since our early teenage years meeting at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs)."

"I am very excited to welcome Todd and California Rush to our family," said Schulz. "Todd and I have known each other for many years and I have no doubt he will lead the new California Rush to great success."

Interesting Club facts: Founded as a Christian soccer academy, our club has doubled in size in less than 3 years and has enjoyed tremendous success thanks to our fantastic coaching staff, dynamic players and dedicated supporters.
